Anonymous asked: I've been making music for a couple of years but it seems like I just haven't gotten to the point where my songs are dynamic and interesting. As a big fan of your music and your sound, I would like to know what has influenced you to make music that's so progressive (in terms of composition)?

It’s all a personal experience to the producer/artist.  I can say, however, that broadening my tastes and what I listen to has helped my music exponentially with every discovery. To be more clear; it has helped me discover what I want to make, how to achieve it, and what ‘musically’ is important to me, all through the process of listening. Breaking out of a singular music shell opens doors you may not even know exist. It did for me.   

And Its not about hearing something and saying, “Shit this is what I want to make.” Listening exercises your brain in a way, that allows you to flex a little differently.  After all it is a muscle that needs training.  

I don’t listen to club music at home, or I rarely do.  At the end of the day, the process is far more important then the result, to me anyway. I think that has kept me positive towards making music.  Not worrying too much how a song will end. 

If all else fails: Sample.  Shit, that’s what I do. X 

EDIT:  I hear a playfulness in peoples music who listen to lots of different stuff.  Thats hard to emulate when you are only exposing yourself to one thing.
